Most asked

Is the fee one-off or yearly, and what does the monthly plan cover?

The market fee is one-off: £195 per market, with no renewal fee and no re-registration. After that you pay only the monthly plan, from £19.95 (up to 20 SKUs) to £249.95 (up to 2,000 SKUs), which runs month to month. It keeps your appointment active: Eldris's address on your labels and listings, and replies to the authorities.

Are there any other charges?

For the appointment, only two: the one-off market fee and the monthly plan, and the market fee is never charged again. Cosmetics sellers can add the CPNP notification, £99 per CPSR, at checkout; the CPSR and product information file are not part of the appointment. Regenerating your certificate costs nothing, and the prices are on the service page.

Your monthly plan covers every market and does not change, and the certificate names every market Eldris is appointed for.

Does one EU Responsible Person cover all 27 EU countries?

Yes: the GPSR asks for one economic operator established in the EU, not one per country (Article 16(1)). So one EU entity can represent you across the Union, and Eldris covers any of the 27 member states. Eldris charges a one-off fee for each market you choose and names those markets on your certificate.

Can I be my own Responsible Person?

Only if your business is established in the EU: an EU manufacturer holds the role itself (Article 4(2)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020). The same applies to the EU maker of a cosmetic made in the EU. Otherwise an EU importer or an authorised representative holds it, or, failing both, a fulfilment service provider.

Is a Responsible Person the same as EPR registration?

No: a Responsible Person is the product-safety role, the EU operator named on your product who answers the authorities (Article 16 of the GPSR). Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is the duty to register with each country's producer register for packaging, electrical equipment and batteries. EPR also means paying for recycling, and Eldris offers EPR registration as a separate service.

The law requires the Responsible Person to answer a reasoned request (Article 4(3)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020). Does appointing a Responsible Person move my liability?

No: appointing a Responsible Person adds an EU operator for your product, while your own obligations as manufacturer stay with you. The Responsible Person's checks apply without prejudice to those obligations (Article 16(2) of the GPSR). Eldris's terms also require you to hold product liability insurance and to indemnify Eldris against claims arising from your products.

Labels and packaging

What name and address go on my label?

Both, under the GPSR: your own name and postal and electronic address as manufacturer (Article 9(6)), and the Responsible Person's (Article 16(3)). For EU markets that is EldrisAi OÜ, Ruunaoja tn 3, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia, with compliance@eldris.ai as the email. A cosmetic label also carries the Responsible Person's name and address, under Article 19(1)(a) of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

When can I print Eldris's details on my packaging?

You can print them before the appointment, which takes effect when you complete onboarding; the certificate follows within 60 minutes. Eldris's name, postal address and email go on the product, its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document (Article 16(3) of the GPSR). The UK

Do I need a UK Responsible Person as well as an EU one?

For cosmetics, yes: a cosmetic sold in Great Britain needs a responsible person established in the UK (Schedule 34 to SI 2019/696). For other consumer products, the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 make a UK representative optional, while sector rules such as toys are separate. Eldris adds the UK at the same £195 market fee, on the same monthly plan.

How this list is built

Where the questions come from. Every question here was put to Eldris by a seller, by email to [email protected] or in the chat on this site. Eldris's own system reads both every night and groups the questions that ask the same thing.

Anonymised. No seller is named and no message is quoted: each question is paraphrased, and the line under it says how often it was asked and by how many sellers.

What it does not show. Price tables and worked examples are on the service page. The answers state the position of the Eldris service; they are not legal advice, and the terms apply to every order.
