Cancel Responsible Person Service: What Happens to Your Labels

Yes: you can cancel Responsible Person service with Eldris at any time, from your account dashboard or by contacting support. The month-to-month plan ends at the end of the billing period you have paid for, and your appointment then ceases. You must then remove Eldris's details from your packaging and marketplace listings within 30 days, and Eldris does not refund the one-off market fee.

How do you cancel Responsible Person service, and when does it end?

Cancel at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. So the plan ends with the month you have paid for.

Until then, the appointment and certificate stay active. Your subscription runs month to month until either party ends it. Fees are payable in advance on a monthly billing cycle, by recurring card charges through Stripe.

If you cancel Responsible Person service partway through a month, the rest of that month stays in place. The appointment does not end on the day you cancel.

One monthly plan covers all your markets. To change a paid service rather than end it, the onboarding flow sends you to your portal.

If you are moving to another provider, make the new appointment before your paid month ends. Without another EU-established operator, you may not place a GPSR product on the market once your appointment ceases. That rule is in Article 16(1) of Regulation (EU) 2023/988.

What stops when the appointment ceases?

When you cancel Responsible Person service, the appointment stops once your paid month ends. The monthly plan is what keeps it active. Your own duties as manufacturer do not end with it.

While it runs, the plan keeps the appointment active. It also buys Eldris's address on your label and listings, replies to the authorities for you, and the portal with your certificates.

Once the appointment ceases, Eldris is no longer your Responsible Person for the markets it covered. Its details on your label and listings then no longer name the operator responsible for your products.

Keep your own copies of your certificates and of the log of authority correspondence in the portal. That way your records stay complete.

Tell Eldris promptly about any regulatory inquiry or safety incident, as its terms ask. Then nothing stays open when the plan ends.

What happens to labels after you cancel Responsible Person service?

Remove Eldris's details from your packaging and marketplace listings within 30 days of termination. That is the seller's duty under Eldris's terms. The terms set the deadline but say nothing about the products' status during those 30 days.

Replace them with the details of your next Responsible Person, on packaging and listings alike. For GPSR products those details go on the product, its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document (Article 16(3)). They also go in the online offer (Article 19(b)).

Cosmetics carry them on the container and packaging, under Article 19(1)(a) of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Note the date your appointment with Eldris ended and the date each listing changed. That way the record of the change is yours.

Beyond the 30 days, the terms say nothing about stock already on the market with Eldris's details. So ask your next provider how it treats that stock.

Is anything refunded when you cancel Responsible Person service?

Eldris issues no refund for cancellation or change of mind. You pay the one-off market fee once, on initial registration, and it is non-refundable. The only exception in the terms is Eldris failing to deliver the agreed scope of a purchased service.

That exception turns on what Eldris delivered, not on why you are leaving. In that case the terms give a full refund of the fee paid for that service, on request.

Eldris charges the market fee once for each market and never again, so there is no renewal fee to stop. Monthly fees are SKU-based tiers set by your active SKU count, payable in advance. So the month already paid runs to its end, and Eldris does not refund it.

A failed payment differs from a cancellation. Under the terms, service suspension may follow after a 7-day grace period, which is a possibility rather than an automatic step.

If you mean to leave, cancel Responsible Person service rather than let a payment fail. Then the end date is the end of your billing period. The current fees are on the service page pricing section.

Who represents your products after you cancel Responsible Person service?

You need another Responsible Person, or an EU-established business that can hold the role, before you place more products on the EU market. Article 16(1) of the GPSR bars placing a product it covers without an economic operator established in the EU responsible for it.

For products under the acts listed in Article 4(5) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020, its Article 4(1) sets the same rule. Article 4(2) then lists who can hold the role.

Cosmetics have their own rule. Under Article 4(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, only cosmetics with a Responsible Person designated within the EU may go on the market.
