What are the steps to appoint Eldris?

The onboarding form runs in this order: Details, Responsible Person, Quote and Authorise. You see the quote before any payment, and payment comes last, once you have authorised.

  1. Details: your company name, contact, email, phone, business address and country.
  2. Responsible Person: which markets, what you sell and how many SKUs.
  3. Quote: the price for those choices. You can have it emailed as a full quotation (PDF) before you pay.
  4. Authorise: you confirm that you have authority to appoint Eldris for the markets chosen, and you accept the terms of service. Then you pay the market fees plus the first month of your plan.

The form sits on the Eldris onboarding page. If you choose other Eldris services in the same order, each has its own screen before the quote, and payment still comes last.

Article 16(1) of Regulation (EU) 2023/988, the GPSR, requires an economic operator established in the EU before anyone places a covered product on the market. For EU markets, that operator is EldrisAi OÜ. The guide to appointing a representative for EU compliance covers the general legal side, and the Responsible Person FAQ gives the short answer.

What do you choose when you appoint Eldris?

Your markets, what you sell and how many SKUs, all on the Responsible Person screen. Each EU member state is one market, and so is the UK. Each market you add carries a one-off fee.

You can choose any EU member state and the United Kingdom, and the certificate then names every market you chose. The UK is a separate appointment for Great Britain, at the same market fee and under the same monthly plan. Great Britain has its own product rules, such as the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, while Northern Ireland follows the EU rules.

Next you choose the product types you sell, and one registration per market covers all of them. Last comes your SKU count. A SKU is one sellable item, and each variant, such as a size or colour, counts as one SKU.

The monthly plan, priced by SKU count, then covers every market you chose. If cosmetics are among your product types, the order also offers the CPNP filing for an EU market in it, at the CPNP filing fee. The appointment does not produce the CPSR or the PIF, and the cosmetics FAQ covers those documents.

What is paid when you appoint Eldris?

The market fees plus the first month of your plan, and nothing else. Payment comes last, after you accept the Letter of Authorisation, and you need no documents before you pay.

You pay the one-off fee for each market once, and Eldris does not charge it again. There is no renewal and no re-registration, so from year two you pay the monthly plan only.

The multi-market discount applies to the market fees only, and only at onboarding. It counts the markets you order together in one sitting. Markets you add later do not count with the markets you already hold.

One monthly plan covers all your markets, so your plan stays the same with one market or several. The discount leaves the plan untouched, because the plan is SKU-driven, not market-driven.

You pay the monthly fee in advance, by recurring card charges through Stripe. Then the plan runs month to month until either party ends it. The service page's pricing section also carries a worked example with markets, a plan, and the amounts paid once and monthly.

What do you accept at the Authorise step?

The Letter of Authorisation. You tick to confirm that you have authority to appoint Eldris for the markets chosen, and the same tick accepts the terms of service.

The Letter lists your company, contact, email, phone and address, then your markets and your coverage, which is the SKU plan. So read it through before you tick, because it repeats what you entered on the Details and Responsible Person screens. The guide to the information needed to appoint Eldris covers each field.

The step also names the company you appoint, which follows your markets. EldrisAi OÜ takes the EU markets and EldrisAI the United Kingdom. When the order has both, the certificate names both companies.

The terms of service are an agreement between you and EldrisAi OÜ, registry code 17298529. A seller of cosmetics and other goods does not need two appointments, because Eldris consolidates both roles under one appointment through EldrisAi OÜ. After the tick you pay, as the last step of the form.

What happens once you appoint Eldris and pay?

Eldris issues the certificate of appointment within 60 minutes of completing onboarding. It names every market you chose, with a document reference number and the appointment date.

You can upload the certificate to Amazon Seller Central or any marketplace that asks for your Responsible Person. For EU markets, your packaging and listings carry EldrisAi OÜ, Ruunaoja tn 3, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia, with compliance@eldris.ai. You can even print packaging before the appointment, as the guide to label printing explains.

After payment you supply accurate and complete product information through your portal, including safety documentation. Eldris does not prepare declarations of conformity or technical files: you or your test laboratory do.

Meanwhile the monthly plan keeps the appointment active. It also buys Eldris's address on your label and listings, replies to the authorities and the portal with your certificates.

Answering a reasoned request from an authority is a task under Article 4(3) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020. When an EU market surveillance authority sends a formal request, Eldris answers it using the documentation in your portal. The initial response comes within 10 working days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get the quote in writing before I pay?

Yes, on the Quote step you can have the full quotation emailed to you as a PDF before any payment. The quote shows the price for your markets and your SKU plan. Payment comes only after you accept the Letter of Authorisation, as the last step of the onboarding form.

Who should tick the box to appoint Eldris?

Someone who can confirm they have authority to appoint Eldris for the markets chosen, because that is what the tick states. The same tick also accepts the terms of service, which are an agreement between you and EldrisAi OÜ. The tick comes on the Authorise step, after the quote and before payment.

Is there a renewal fee after the first year?

No, you pay the market fee once, with no renewal and no re-registration in any later year. From year two you pay the monthly plan only, and the plan is still priced by your active SKU count. A growing range can therefore move you to another tier, but the market fees stay one-off.

What happens if a card payment fails?

Under the terms, service suspension may follow after a 7-day grace period on a failed payment. The monthly fee is payable in advance each month, by recurring card charges through Stripe. The appointment and the certificate stay active while the plan runs, and it runs month to month until either party ends it.

Can I add markets after I appoint Eldris?

Yes, a market added later is its own one-off registration at the market fee, and you add it in the portal. Your monthly plan does not change, because one plan already covers every market you hold. However, the multi-market discount counts only the markets ordered together at onboarding, in one sitting.

Can I cancel after I appoint Eldris?

Yes, at any time, through your account dashboard or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so the plan ends with the month you have paid for. The one-off market fee is non-refundable, and the appointment and certificate stay active only while the plan runs.
