The information needed to appoint Eldris is details only: company name, contact name, email, phone, business address and country. You also choose product types, markets and a SKU plan, then accept the Letter of Authorisation, and no documents come before payment. Afterwards you supply product information through your portal, while under Article 9(2) of Regulation (EU) 2023/988, the GPSR, the manufacturer draws up the technical documentation.

What is the information needed, field by field?
The Details screen asks for your company name, contact, email, phone, business address and country. You can add a separate billing address when the invoice should go to another company.
| Field | Where it is used |
|---|---|
| Company name | Named on the Letter of Authorisation |
| Contact | Named on the Letter of Authorisation |
| Email and phone | Listed on the Letter; the phone lets Eldris reach you when an authority question is yours to answer |
| Business address and country | The address on the Letter of Authorisation |
| Billing address (optional) | Sends the invoice to another company; both addresses appear on it |
The phone is part of the information needed because Eldris handles the regulatory correspondence. But some questions are yours to answer, so Eldris needs to reach you fast.
The Letter repeats these details, so check them there before you accept. Giving Eldris your address does not take it off your label.
If you are the manufacturer, Article 9(6) of the GPSR requires your own name and postal and electronic address on the product. Article 16(3) then adds the Responsible Person's. A separate guide covers the name and address on your label.
What do you tell the form about products and markets?
The Responsible Person screen asks which markets, what you sell and how many SKUs. The Letter then lists your markets and your coverage, which is the SKU plan.
Each EU member state is one market, and so is the UK, a separate appointment for Great Britain. So list each market you mean to start with. The multi-market discount counts only the markets you order together at onboarding.
For the plan, the information needed is your SKU count. A SKU is one sellable item, and each variant, such as a size or colour, counts as one SKU. Your active SKU count then sets the tier of the monthly plan, priced by SKU count, not by type of product.
The form lists eight product types, and you choose each type you sell:
- General consumer goods
- Electronics & electricals
- Cosmetics & beauty
- Toys & children's goods
- Clothing & textiles
- Food contact materials
- PPE / safety equipment
- Other / not listed
One registration per market covers all the types you choose, however many categories they span.
Is any product information needed before you pay?
No, you upload nothing at checkout and need no documents before payment. Product information follows in your portal once you have paid.
The only product information needed at sign-up is your product types and SKU count. So sign-up asks for none of the usual product papers: no Declaration of Conformity, technical file, test reports, label artwork or product list. You can even print packaging before the appointment, with Eldris's name, postal address and email on it.
Your Declaration of Conformity and technical file stay with you or your test laboratory, not with Eldris. Eldris then issues the certificate of appointment within 60 minutes of completing onboarding. How to appoint Eldris walks through each step of the onboarding form, where you see the quote before you pay.
Cosmetics follow their own law, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, which has its own Responsible Person. The appointment does not produce the CPSR or the PIF, and the cosmetics FAQ explains those documents.
Is more information needed after payment?
Yes, accurate and complete product information, supplied through your portal. That means descriptions, ingredients where they apply, and safety documentation, and the terms of service make it your duty.
The same part of the terms lists your other duties. First, you make sure your products comply with all EU product safety rules that apply before you place them on the EU market. You also hold product liability insurance for the products you sell in the EU.
Finally, you tell Eldris promptly of product safety incidents, recalls or regulatory inquiries. Eldris keeps your records in the portal, such as your certificates and the logs of authority correspondence, and you can reach them at any time.
When an EU market surveillance authority sends a formal request for information, Eldris replies on your behalf using the documents in your portal. So the reply depends on what you have supplied there. Eldris copies you on every message and asks you before it sends any reply of substance.
In law, answering a reasoned request with the information needed to show conformity is a task under Article 4(3)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020.
What if you add products or markets after sign-up?
Both go through your portal: you add product information there, and an existing customer adds markets there. Adding a product or SKU regenerates your certificate automatically, with no fee for the new certificate.
The monthly plan still follows your active SKU count, because the terms set the monthly fees as tiers by that count. So a growing range can move you to another tier.
A new kind of product needs no new registration, since one registration per market covers each product type. As the range changes, keep your product information, with its safety documents, accurate and complete, as the terms require.
Each EU member state is one market, and so is the UK. A new market is its own one-off registration at the market fee. It does not count with the markets you already hold for the discount, as adding markets later explains.
You also change a service you have already paid for in the portal. The short answer on the information needed sits in the Responsible Person FAQ.
Frequently asked questions
Can the invoice go to a different company?
Yes, tick the billing option on the Details screen and add the other company's address. The invoice then goes to that company, and both addresses appear on it. The Letter of Authorisation still lists your own company, contact and business address, as you gave them on the rest of the form.
Which Eldris company am I appointing?
It depends on your markets: EldrisAi OÜ, registry code 17298529, takes the EU markets, and EldrisAI takes the United Kingdom. If your order holds EU markets and the UK, your certificate names both companies. The terms of service, though, are an agreement between you and EldrisAi OÜ, and you accept them at the Authorise step.
Do I list each product when I sign up?
No, the information needed at sign-up is your product types and how many SKUs you have, not each product. You add the details of each product, with its safety documents, in your portal once you have paid. Until then, the Letter of Authorisation records the SKU plan as your coverage.
Who keeps my Declaration of Conformity and technical file?
You or your test laboratory, because the appointment does not include them and Eldris does not prepare them. Under Article 9(2) of the GPSR, the manufacturer draws up the technical documentation before placing a product on the market. You then add your safety documents to your portal, so Eldris can use them when an authority asks.
Is the same information needed if I sell cosmetics?
Yes, you give the same details, and you choose cosmetics as one of your product types. The order then offers the CPNP filing, but only when cosmetics are among your products and the market it files into is in the order. The appointment itself does not produce the CPSR or the PIF.
Will I see what Eldris sends to an authority?
Yes, Eldris copies you on every message and asks you before it sends any reply of substance. If an authority writes to the EU address by post, Eldris logs the letter and tells you within 24 hours. Your portal also keeps the logs of these letters, and you can reach them at any time.
